Celebrate the communities and cultures of Taos County! For one special afternoon, communities from across the county will come together to share what makes each place their own. Think of it as a countywide community expo, where your guides are the neighbors who live these stories and traditions every day.

Step inside the renovated Historic County Courthouse, where each participating community will host a room filled with local history, art, recorded memories, literary works, food bites, and shared traditions. Meet the community members behind the exhibits, hear their stories firsthand, and discover something new about the places you thought you knew.

Bring your family and friends for an afternoon of music, dance, food, and connection as we celebrate the people and cultural treasures that make Taos County home.

Music, Dance & Living Traditions

On the Plaza and throughout the celebration, experience the creativity and cultural traditions of our region, including:

  • Tios Mios, featuring violin and traditional dance instruction
  • Los Comanches de la Serna
  • 1680, a local dance and drumming group
  • Dancers from Picuris
  • Poet Olivia Romo
  • Weaving demonstrations and adobe making
  • Information about the Trampas Land Grant
  • A model of Tio Vivo
  • A car show featuring the T.A.C.O. Car Club

A Taste of Northern New Mexico

Share in the flavors of our communities with free traditional food, including horno-roasted corn from the Chacons, green chile stew and homemade tortillas prepared by the Taos High School Culinary Program, and food bites at community exhibits.

Food will be available while supplies last.

A Passport to Explore

Young visitors can pick up a special Cultural Treasures Passport and collect stamps as they explore the community exhibits, with opportunities to win prizes along the way. It’s a fun invitation to meet neighbors, ask questions, and discover the stories and traditions of Taos County.

Discover Our New Cultural Treasures Map

This gathering also celebrates more than two years of listening, storytelling, and collaboration through the Cultural Treasures Project. Join us for the unveiling of a public, interactive cultural asset map, bringing together the places, traditions, stories, and people that residents value and want to carry forward.

Led by Taos County Economic Development and a local advisory group, the project puts community voices at the center of understanding and protecting what makes our county unique. These contributions will help inform future planning and development as Taos County grows and changes.
